Understanding The Power Of Possibility

I get a real kick out of watching people understand that they have the power to change. It’s like the proverbial light bulb going off and someone saying, “Wow! I can have anything I want!”

Learning the Art of Gratitude for Success

They say we receive in kind those things we project into the world around us. Be it kindness, meanness, honesty, or deceit, the world has a way of paying us back in spades.

Achieving Goals: It’s Solely Up to You

No matter who you are, where you’ve been or where you’re headed, there is always room
for change – a new perspective and a new plan to define what’s most important to you.
Remember – the goal here is to know that a cookie-cutter prescription for success simply doesn’t exist in today’s world. To know that it’s ultimately up to you to make the plan.

Achieve Greater Success at Work

It seems that there is even more pressure now-a-days than before to perform more at work, reach bigger goals, etc. This often leaves less personal […] Read More

What Are You Passionate About?

Let’s assume you had five minutes to give a speech. You would receive a very large sum of money if you gave a speech that the judges considered “passionate.” You choose the topic, you write the speech. You give a passionate speech, you get the money.

What would you talk about? More importantly, would what you talk about in that speech be what you’re truly passionate about, or would you try to fudge and make people think you were really excited about something you think is “important,” because you think that’s what they want to hear?

Everyday Creativity and Personal Growth

If you don’t think of yourself as creative, I think you’re missing a great opportunity to grow as a person – to become who you really are and who you want to be.

Appearing Successful on the Outside

Many people who appear successful and together on the outside feel dissatisfied and disillusioned on the inside. This is because even though our life and careers are humming along at a breakneck speed, we frequently have no idea what direction we’re traveling in – or for that matter, why we ever agreed to go along for the ride.

Are You Living Consciously?

Most of live our whole lives, to some extent, in this half-waking, half-conscious way. More…We know what we’re doing, but we don’t think about it. We don’t stop to consider whether this is the right job for us, whether this friend is dragging us down, whether we need to spend more time on what we really love and enjoy.

Build a Legacy You Can Be Proud Of

Do you have a real desire for your “fifteen minutes of fame?” Most people would answer this question yes, without thinking about it. Of course we want fame.

But do you really want fame, or do you want a legacy? They’re not exactly the same thing.

Action or Inaction: Which Will You Regret More?

How many times have you heard someone saying, “I sure wish I would have…” or “If only I had taken the chance and…”. Our lives are full of decisions. And a decision we make every day is whether or not to do certain tasks. The question is which will you regret doing more – an action that you took, or an action that you didn’t take? For most us, we end up regretting the actions we didn’t take far more than we regret those that we did.

Now You Can Have Quality, Not Quantity

We’re living our lives the “right way” – upholding our civic duties, serving as the model employee, being the attentive husband or wife, family member, friend. And yet, we’re biting off more than we can chew – and what we end up with is quantity, not quality, in all of our undertakings.

A Better Life: Are You Willing To Do What It Takes To Achieve It?

We all dream of having a better life – finding a meaning in our life and pursuing our passions and goals. For some of us a better life means advancing our careers, for others it may be a path of personal discovery that leads to a better life. For others it could mean returning to school to get a degree so they can get the job they always wanted and provide for their families. A better life is achievable by anyone who wants to take the time and effort to do what it takes to attain it. A lot of people sit around talking about having a better life, but how many people are willing to put forth the effort required to actually achieve it?

Need a Break? Do as Badgers Fans Do and JUMP AROUND

We all know that it’s sometimes a good idea to clear our heads during our increasingly-busy days by looking up from our desks and taking a break – going for a walk, sitting in a quiet place, or even logging into Facebook. Taking our minds off the tasks, challenges, and obstacles before us often is exactly what we need to refocus our energies.

I was watching the Wisconsin Badgers game this past Saturday, and it occurred to me that the students who attend the home football games are experts at taking a break. They’ve instituted a tradition whereby they rise to their feet at the end of the third quarter and ‘Jump Around’ to House of Pain’s song of that name.
